Hipped Back Conservatories
 |
 |
| Two fine examples of hipped back Edwardian conservatories. |
They both boast of a 600 mm high base wall in contrasting brick
work to the house, with French doors opening out onto a sun terrace.
The frames allow for top and bottom opening windows
to give good ventilation. Conservatories of this calibre will be
inclined to have a glass roofs which these have. To read more on glass roofs visit our page on roofs for conservatories. Additional ventilation
is gained by ventilators in the roof which we maintain should be
built into all conservatories as standard.
Although the above pictures show a 600 mm base wall you can have a base wall to any height or have full glazed panels to the floor level if you prefer with any style of window.
Specialist blinds for conservatories have been fitted
to ensure the conservatory stays cool on hot sunny days to read
more on blinds for conservatories follow this link to blinds
for conservatories.
The interiors have been left plastered and colour
washed with power points set into the walls for electric panel heaters
for conservatories.
Conservatories with this design, with the roof sloping
back onto the wall of the house must have a structural box gutter
fitted. Often clients have difficulty trying to imagine what conservatories
with this option will look like from the inside so we have shown
this detail below.
