Above are two superb illustrations of 3 facet Victorian
conservatories. |
Both these 3 facet Victorian conservatories have a 600 mm high base wall
in similar brick work to the house, with French doors opening out
onto a brick path leading on to the garden. Although the above pictures show a 600 mm base wall you can have a base wall to any height or the glazed panels to the floor level if you prefer with any style of window.
Conservatories with facets should always have squint
bricks to achieve good clean corners these can be either cut or
resin bonded at the brick works or specially hand made both methods
are acceptable.
What is often done on site for cost saving is that the bricks are cut at an angle with a brick saw and joined with a wall tie and a vertical mortar joint. This does not look so neat and is susceptible to the vertical joint movement.
The windows on the conservatory to the right has top
opening fanlights while the other has full glass windows both give
good ventilation. Conservatories of these designs can have either
glass or polycarbonate roofs.
Additional ventilation is generated by roof ventilators.
The roof is the first area of conservatories that gets hot, hot
area rises, so by fitting roof ventilators you remove this hot air.
We maintain these should be built into all conservatories
as standard.
The interior of both conservatories have been finished
in rustic brickwork with power points set into the base wall for
panel heaters suitable for conservatories. Lighting has been achieved
by table lamps.
The
flooring is wooden which is very effective in all conservatories
as it compliments the white uPVC. To read more on wooden flooring
